White pepper essential oil is extracted from white peppercorns of the Piperaceae family through a steam distillation process.  This oil is highly beneficial for curing digestion related problems. Today it is cultivated in almost all the tropical areas of the globe. White pepper oil is insoluble in water alcohol and oils. Since long time it has been in use in India but today it is widely cultivated in China and Malaysia.

 

White pepper oil generally blends well with the essential oil such as Chamomile, Frankincense, Lavender, Geranium, Orange, jasmine, Lemon, Bergamot, Lime, Mandarin, Neroli, Rosemary, Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet and Ylang Ylang. The main constituents of the oil are sabinene, limonene, beta-pinene, alpha-pinene, furthermore terpinene, myrcene, monoterpene derivatives, delta-3-carene.

 

Due to its antispasmodic properties, whitepepper oil is used to smooth the muscles of the gut. It is very helpful in the problem associated with the digestive system. It is believed that it promotes the production of blood cells by stimulating the spleen. Moreover, it is also very helpful in the treatment of arthritis, fever and migraine headache.

Precautions

Although white pepper oil is non-toxic and non-sensitizing, yet it should not be taken in high concentrations.

Pain: Use few drops of this oil (preferably with carrier oil like lemon or sandal wood) to massage over painful area to mitigate pains arising from spasms or sprains.

 

Arthritis: Add 5-6 drops of white pepper oil to 15 ml of bergamot or geranium oil and apply the mixture over affected area to relieve from the condition of arthritis or muscular swelling.

 

Weight Loss: The presence of capsaicin in white pepper oil helps to burn fats in human body for attaining quick weight loss. It's the sole reason most weight loss medicines are composed of capsaicin. 

 

Frequent Headaches: Apply 2-3 drops of white pepper oil over the forehead and massage gently to relieve headache by interrupting neuropeptide signals. 

 

Sore Throat or Frequent Coughs: Mix few drops of White Pepper oil with raw honey and consume to treat cold
