Kewra Absolute Oil is extracted through hydro distillation method from the flowers of Kewra. It is a shrub that belongs to the Pandanaceae family with highly fragrant flowers. It is also known by the name of "keorra-ka-arak". The flowers of this plant are used to attract snakes. They are palm-like, dioecious trees and shrubs native to southern Asia and Ryukyu Islands. The species of this plant vary in sizes from small shrubs less than 1 meter tall to the medium-sized trees up to 20 meters .
