Lavandin essential oil is extracted from the L. hybrida which is also known as Lavandula X intermedia of Labiatae family. Lavandin plant is not a natural plant; it is born by the hybridization of two plants Lavandula Latifolia and Lavandula Angustifolia. This is the reason why it is known as Lavandula Hortensis and Lavandula Hybrida. The medicinal properties and scent of Lavandin is almost similar to Lavender but it is bit sharp and intense.
The main components of Lavandin oil are Lavandulol, Linalyl Acetate, Linalool, Cineole, Camphor, Caryophyllene, Dipentene, Camphene, Ocimene, Limonene and Terpinene. It is a wonderful natural oil which is used for the number of health problems. It is often used to ease joints, muscle sores as well as for clearing the lungs. It is also widely used as an effective massage oil.
Lavandin has originated from France in 1900 and has gray or blue flowers. It is also very popular for its anti depressant, anti septic, analgesic, cicatrisant and expectorant properties. Lavandin essential oil blends really well with the essential oils of Citronella, Bergamot, Cinnamon, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Jasmine, Thyme, Pine and Patchouli.
