Origin Lemongrass oil is originally grown in India. It is derived from the perennial grass which is aromatic.
Method of Extraction & Part of Plant Used This oil is extracted from dried leaves by using the method of steam distillation.
Properties

It has watery viscosity. It is dark yellow to amber and reddish in color.

Aroma

 

It has a very sweet and lemony smell.

 

Integrants This oil is composed of nerol, geraniol, myrcene, citronellal, geranyl acetate, neral and traces of limonene and citral.

Precautions

 

As lemongrass oil is a skin irritant, it should be completely avoided during pregnancy.

 

Natural Deodorizer: Dilute lemongrass oil in a ratio of 1:10 with water and use this solution to mist within the interiors. Moreover, mix lemongrass oil with other essential oils such as lavender, peppermint or linden blossom to customize fragrances.

Skin Health: Use few drops of lemongrass oil with your regular moisturizer, soap or lotion to avail its antiseptic and astringent property that effectively cleans and rejuvenates skin.

Repel Bugs: Add 20 drops of lemongrass oil 500mL of water to mist around the interiors. The insecticidal property of lemongrass oil will help to repel bugs such as mosquitoes
