Aniseed oil is extracted from the Pimpinella anisum. Pimpinella anisum belongs to the Apiaceae family that is native to the Southwest Asia and the eastern Mediterranean region. This plant is basically a flowering plant. Aniseed is also known as anise. The American black licorice candy has flavoring done with this plant. The aniseed oil is available in whole of USA today. Greeks usually use this oil as the best medicine for digestive tracts. It has highly poised effects on the human body. Aroma therapists use this oil very often.

Botanical Name	Pimpinella anisum
Origin	This oil found its origin in Middle East. Today, it is widely available in USA, Europe and North Africa.
Method of Extraction & Part of Plant Used	Aniseed essential oil is extracted from Pimpinella anisum by cold pressing method.
Properties	Aniseed oil is colorless to pale yellow in appearance.
Aroma	This oil has a liquorice like odor.
Integrants	The composition of this oil includes camphene, a-pinene, safrole, linalool, trans-anethole, anisaldehyde, b-pinene acetoanisole and cis-anethole.
Therapeutic Properties	The herb from which this oil is extracted was used by Romans, Egyptians and Greeks. Romans used this oil in preparation of spicy cakes and breads were made out of this oil by Egyptians. Since, it has a very calming effect so; Greeks use it as a medicine.
Blends Well With	It blends well with Rosewood, Cedar wood, Mandarin, Bay, Caraway oil and Coriander
Precautions	Aniseed oil should be avoided on the sensitive skin. Women should not use it during the phase of pregnancy.
