Properties Citronella oil is quite popular for its miraculous insect repellent properties. This organic oil is extremely useful in cleansing and softening the skin texture. This essential oil is derived through an extensive process of steam distillation from the fresh, partly dried citronella grass. This organic essential oil giving grass usually found in the tropical areas and has a strong woody and sweet aroma.
Aroma Citronella oil has a very sweet and lemony smell.
Integrants It is composed of borneol, citral, citonellic acid, nerol, camphene, limonene, citronellal and dipentene.
Therapeutic Properties Antipyretic, Antiseptic, Antimicrobial, Analgesic, Deodorant, Astringent, Bactericidal, Diuretic, Antidepressant, Carminative, Febrifuge, Galactogogue, Sedative, Insecticidal, Nervine, Fungicidal and Tonic
Blends Well With Citronella oil blends completely with bergamot, geranium, lemon, orange, lavender and pine.
Precautions This oil can cause irritation to sensitive skin.

Insect Repellent: Add few drops in burners or diffuser ward off insects from premises. Alternatively, dilute 15-20 drops of citronella oil in 500 ml of distilled water and spray around the affected area. Besides, mix 5-6 drops of citronella oil with carrier oil (Lemon or Lavender) and apply over skin to prevent insect bite.

Aromatherapy: Mix 10 drops of citronella oil in 25 ml of Geranium or Lavender oil to attain activating and warming qualities during aromatherapy that alleviates stress, anxiety and mental complexities for a relaxed and light feel.

Skin Irritations: Put 2-3 drops of citronella oil over cotton ball and gently wipe off the affected area to relieve irritation caused due to insect bites, oily skin, allergies or fungal infections.


Freshen Body and Interiors: Add few drops of citronella oil to base oil (Jasmine or Lavender) for making an all-natural and effective lemony fragrance deodorant. To lend a soothing aroma in interiors, mix 8-10 drops of citronella oil in your diffuser.


Inflammation and Pain: Mix 4-5 drops of citronella oil to 2 tablespoons of Bergamot or Lemon oil and massage over the affected area to tranquil inflammation and pain associated with body.
