The main components of this oil are methyl cinnamate, camphene, 1,8-cineole, a-pinene, b-pinene, eugenol, borneol, safrole, caryophyllene, terpinen-4-ol, piperitone, phellandrene, limonene, y-terpinene, p-cymene, terpinolene, furfural, camphor, linalool, geraniol, bornyl acetate, sabinene, and cinnamaldehyde.

The pure oil is steam distilled from the leaf of the plant.

  The pure brown camphor oil can cause skin irritations. Being very strong, it should be used in very little amount.
