Pimento Leaf essential oil is produced from Pimenta dioica (also known as Pimenta officinalis). It is the member of Myrtaceae family. The plant of Pimenta dioica is basically an indigenous tree, which originated in the South America and West Indies. This plant has the capability to reach to the maximum height of about 10 meters (which is approximately about 30 feet).

 

Pimento Leaf essential oil is also known as allspice as its aroma exhibits the bouquet of aroma which comprises of the scents of juniper, cloves, cinnamon, berry and pepper. This oil is much in use today owing to its beneficial properties like anesthetic, antioxidant, analgesic, antiseptic, carminative, muscle relaxant, stimulant, tonic, rubefacient and other such properties. It is recommended that this oil should be used in diluted quantities as it can cause dermal irritation.
